If I had to pick a crossover, it would be the RDX, which isn’t listed. But I’d much rather have a TSX wagon or, if buying new, a Civic/Focus/Corolla/3 hatch.

I’d drive a Macan S/GTS/Turbo, especially if I lost the use of my left leg... A coworker has an F-Pace and it’s very nice. I’d have no problem dailying a CX-5 (used to have a Mazda 3 hatch) and recommend it highly - great car for many people. I think the XC60 looks great.

Sure, I’d daily drive one if it’s given to me. If I were spending my own money I’d buy something else entirely. Fast crossovers clearly exist but I really don’t see the point. Not as fun as a similar car, less practical than a wagon, more expensive to run. Nope, not for me.

If you’re going with RDX, the new RDX appears to be very very good for what it is. new Platform, They fixed the stupid infotainment, gave it the Accord 2.0T, 10 speed and back to proper SH-AWD

Yeah, for sure. Before I bought my TSX I was looking at the early 1st gen ones, before the beak. Those had standard SH-AWD as well (they added a 2WD option with the beak), but the fuel mileage is apparently awful, especially if you stay in boost a lot. I think the TSX is much more satisfying, though.

I had owned it for about a month when my sister in law asked what we bought. I told her it was an Infiniti FX45, she said “Oh, is that a crossover?”

...and that was the moment I realized I might have actually bought a crossover. Prior to that, it was a V8 SUV that could actually handle, in my head.

My wife has informed me that she would like her next car to be a cross-over, and she has the Mazda CX-5 in mind to replace her Mazda3. This list is useful (in theory) for me, since I would like whatever it is to be acceptable for me to drive, also.

Fortunately she agrees that her car is still far too new to need to be replaced.

WK2 platform is a unibody chasis with an IRS setup in the back... I guess that it is a crossover, really the definitions are so weird nowadays that they can get away with calling it a wagon for all I can notice.

I really like a loaded CX-9, if I have to have an SUV. But a minivan is just more practical for all the same jobs. Which is why I have one.

The premise of that article is kinda flawed. If you’re a car person and you’re buying a crossover it’s probably because you can’t afford a second car. Most of those cars on that list are the kind that if someone can afford them, they can afford a second car. Why buy an SQ5 if you can get a CR-V and a pre-owned Corvette or something for the same price?

Agreed, its all over the place now but Ive never considered a true 7 seater as a crossover (not that Lexus RX crap). And the Cherokee has a true 4x4 system, not some half the time AWD

Some cherokees have a good 4x4 system, not all GCs are made equal. Mine’s rear wheel drive, some limited 4x4 models are a simple all time system, but daddy GC summit has a transfer case, and low gears, the whole thing.

I’d drive the GLA 45. Mostly because it’s actually a hatchback, about the size of a Mazda 3. And it would need to be that crazy-ass green.

But it could really do with a third pedal.

Given that my wife wants a cross-over as her next car, but puts very few miles on her car with her current job, I’m actually interested in the best driver’s cross-over. I may take the unusual approach of trying to convince her to lease something that would be a fun, frivolous expense for a couple of years like a Macan or an F-Pace.

But because she puts so few miles on her car it will not be for many more years, hopefully. Plus, she probably will prefer a more reasonable CX-5, as she has already pointed one out to me on a couple of occasions.

I’ll happily vouch for the CX-5. My wife hasn’t managed to kill her 2016 yet, which is an impressive feat, plus we both really like it a lot. Her sister also has one and she likes how it handles like a hatchback but has room for my nephews and all the stuff she has to schlep around as a modern mom on-the-go.
